Story
About Me Age: 4 years....Georgia may not be a Golden Retriever by breed, but she has all the charm, loyalty, and affectionate nature that Goldens are known for—and then some. She first came into rescue in 2022 with two of her littermates, after another group had difficulty placing them. SCGRR stepped in, and it was clear from the start: Georgia is something special. Sadly, Georgia’s original adopter passed away suddenly, and she found herself back in our care. This sweet girl continues to show everyone just how much love she has to give. Georgia forms deep bonds quickly and is the very definition of a “Velcro dog”—wherever you go, she wants to be right by your side, whether it’s a walk around the block or a ride in the car. In the home, Georgia is a model guest. She’s polite at mealtimes, never counter surfs, listens well, and has excellent house manners. She also takes her role as watch dog seriously, always ready to let you know if something’s not quite right—just one more way she shows her love and devotion. One of Georgia’s favorite things in the world is going for walks, and she’s a joy on leash—an enthusiastic but easygoing walking partner. She also enjoys peaceful moments in the sun, lounging in the yard or soaking up the world from the front porch. But her absolute favorite place? Curled up next to you, or better yet, in your lap, snuggling while you relax or watch TV. Georgia gets along wonderfully with the other dogs and cat in her foster home, but she’d also be perfectly content as the only pet, as long as she gets lots of love and attention from her humans. Georgia is ready to find her forever family—one that will welcome her loyal heart and give her the love she so freely gives in return. My Ideal Home Georgia’s ideal home has a yard that she can easily access and a loving family that enjoys cuddles and companionship. Daily walks are also part of her ideal home. Georgia is an adorable, affectionate, and well-behaved dog looking for a home that will love her as much as she loves her humans. Want to Adopt me? If you believe your home is the perfect match for Georgia, please make sure you have first submitted a general adoption application and completed your home interview with a SCGRRescue Volunteer.
