Story
In Perkinsville- Meet Sparkler, a 6 month old Aussie mix who came to New England after being rescued from a kill shelter in TX, along with her siblings. This little girl loves to run and bound in the woods. She is fearless out there: jumping over trees, climbing large rocks, and fearlessly choosing to go down the steepest portion without hesitation and with extreme ease. She enjoys these things almost as much as she enjoys her couch and cuddle time. She's a very determined and happy dog. Sparkles is a lover of other dogs, people and kids, and is eager to please. She is a small pup at 15 lbs and is easily intimidated, so positive reinforcement and training will be a must. She's already house trained with a doggie door, crate trained, and is working on her basic commands. She has an adorable quirk where she will lick your legs as you walk for attention. She truly is a sweetheart and will easily fit in with pretty much any family. Sparkler has her required vaccines, and is spayed and microchipped. She is being fostered in Perkinsville, VT, along with her brother Rocket. If he sounds perfect for you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family and $125 transport fee which is what we paid to tranport her from Texas to New England. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
We'll also keep you updated on Rocket's adoption status with email updates.

Story
In Perkinsville-Meet Rocket, a 6 month old Aussie mix who came to New England after being rescued from a kill shelter in TX, along with his siblings. Rocket is in need of a loving family to embrace his silly personality. He is eager to please and loves to cuddle. He loves his stuffy toys and is house trained with a doggy door. He sleeps in his crate, knows the basic commands sit, stay and come and would really enjoy a good puppy class. He needs an experienced dog owner who practices patience and positive reinforcement. He is wonderful with children, but is fearful of cats. He has a natural heel on his leash but needs to be reminded to settle at times. He is certainly a special being who will make his future family complete. Rocket has his required vaccines, and is neutered and microchipped. He is being fostered in Perkinsville, VT, along with his sister Sparkles If he sounds perfect for you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family and $125 transport fee which is what we paid to tranport him from Texas to New England. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. LAYLA was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and will be arriving at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 25th September.  We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Layla is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of June 2024 and on 20th September weighed 25 pounds.  We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.  She does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. LAYLA is available for an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
*Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Trent is a sweet mixed puppy who loves to cuddle. His favorite snack is bacon!!  Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $500 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##2063181##
