Story
If you want an extremely sweet, uncomplicated dog who is just delightful, look no further than Luka. We find this even more surprising as he has lived through a horrendous trauma. Whomever adopts this little 8 lb, 4 year old Cairn Terrier Mix will have a treasure. Like many terriers he has a charming sense of humor and is a lot of fun. Luka is housebroken and walks well on a leash, though can be agitated when he sees another dog. Luka calmly enjoys car rides, sleeps beautifully through the night and is not a big, yappy barker, which his Foster Mom really appreciates. (well he will make an exception when he sees a squirrel in the yard!) His tail never stops wagging! He gets on with cats and most dogs in the house. We feel he would be ok in a home with children 11 years and older who understand that while he is cute as a button and looks like a toy, he is not a toy. Luka is up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in him please complete the application on our website: www.amrdog.org. LOCAL AREA ADOPTION

Story
Baxter is a confident little gentlemen who is a joy to have around. He is happiest when cuddling with his human. Couch snuggles are the best. He is fully housebroken, walks great on a leash and sleeps soundly in his crate. Baxter has little tolerance for bigger dogs, so it's best he is an only dog or a dog with smaller dogs in the household. He would benefit with training. He is sweet natured and very lovable. He is between 2-3 years old and weighs 18 pounds. He loves, loves, loves having his own backyard. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

Story
SUPER SWEET and so calm....that's our Eli! Meet Eli! He is an absolutely adorable, 10lb, approximately 7/8 year old, Westie/Cairn Terrier mix. Eli came to us when his elderly owner who had him since a puppy, passed away. He then went to her son and daughter in laws, but after a year....they felt like they couldn't keep him any longer and none of the family members wanted him either. Thankfully, a friend of the daughter in law knew of our rescue and reached out to us. We took one look at this sweet boy and knew we had to help! Eli came directly to our groomer where he had a full spa treatment that was much needed! He then went to his foster home who told us exactly what he needs in forever home. We are looking for a calm and quiet home with owners that are home most of the day. Another dog in the home is fine, but ideally he could be your one and only. He does fine and will coexist with other dogs, but doesn't really interact with them. He seems to prefer and feel safer with men, but is ok with women also. A home with a safe and secure yard would be nice as he loves to hang out in the backyard. The first few days to a week, he will come very scared and so safety and security will be highly implemented so he doesn't get out. We will require a dog gate at the front door 24/7 and he cannot be taken out of the home for 3-4 weeks. Eli is absolutely SO sweet, calm, quiet, and loving once he feels safe in his surroundings. He is very food motivated and that can help with him gaining your trust. His prior owner must have taken such good care of him because his teeth are absolutely sparkling white! Sweet Eli did not deserve to be dumped after losing his owner, but we know that his perfect forever home is out there! Eli is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us for more info at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

***Courtesy post - contact Rachel 818-378-8995*** Romy is a 3 yo Carin terrier mix who weighs 20 pounds. Sadly he was abandoned when a rescue closed its doors and left their dogs behind. He's currently in a foster home but is eager to find his forever friend. While he's shy at first meeting, he will melt your heart and be your best snuggle buddy. He's your most loyal companion! Romy is house-trained, super smart, playful and LOVES his adventures outside - especially going on long walks with his person. He is GREAT with dogs (and cats) and would love a doggy friend to play with. Romy is fixed, UTD on shots and ready for love. Please no small children, they can be scary to Romy. This is a courtesy post for a fellow rescuer. Please text 818-378-8995 for more info. Story
Meet Grandma Dollie Mae Meet Grandma Dollie Mae: Your New Best Friend! Introducing Grandma Dollie Mae, our sweet 10-year-old senior pup who is nothing short of a miracle. Just a short while ago, Dollie found herself in a dire situation at a high-kill animal shelter in Los Angeles, facing the unthinkable. Thankfully, our wonderful rescue team at Concerned Citizens stepped in just in time to change her fate. With the help of a caring foster family, Dollie was whisked off to the vet to receive the care she deserves. Dollie loves her afternoon nap with her favorite pillow and blanket. She eats and sleeps and then eats again. We recommend a house hold with children over 12 years old who possess very good animal etiquette. As Dolly needs not to be startled. This spunky little lady embodies the spirit of happiness and resilience! Despite facing a few medical issues, such as arthritis, Dollie remains a joyful companion. Her vet has advised against spaying due to her age, as undergoing anesthesia could pose risks. But don't let that worry you—this feisty grandma dog has plenty of love and life to share! Dollie Mae is the perfect addition to any low-key home, bringing warmth, joy, and a sprinkle of fun wherever she goes. She is microchipped and up to date on vaccinations, ensuring she’s ready for her forever family. If you're interested in lighting up your life with this delightful senior angel, Dollie Mae is currently located in Lakewood, CA, and would love to meet you! For inquiries or to set up a meet-and-greet, please reach out to us at info@concernedcitizensanimalrescue.org. Let’s give Grandma Dollie Mae the loving home she truly deserves!

Adopting a Sealyham Terrier

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Sealyham Terrier - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

You can adopt a Sealyham Terrier at a much lower cost than buying one from a breeder. The cost of adopting a Sealyham Terrier is around $200 to $500, which covers the expenses of caring for the dog before adoption and often includes vaccinations, initial veterinary checkups, spaying or neutering, and microchipping. In contrast, buying a Sealyham Terrier from a breeder can be prohibitively expensive. A Sealyham puppy usually costs anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000.

The easiest way to adopt a Sealyham Terrier is through a rescue that specializes in Sealyham Terriers. A great place to start is by creating a breed search on Adopt a Pet. The search will show you all the available Sealyham Terriers in your area.
