Story
Meet Sprocket, a 4-year-old Poodle mix with a big personality and a heart full of potential. Sprocket has had a rough start and comes with a history of reactivity and biting. He’s a scared dog who needs a firm, experienced owner to help him feel secure and establish boundaries. Sprocket has had training sessions and responds well to clear, consistent leadership. Once he knows you’re in charge, he’s much more relaxed and doesn’t push back. However, he does react to new people and should wear a muzzle during initial introductions for safety. Despite his challenges, Sprocket has no health issues and thrives on affection from his trusted person. He enjoys being cuddled and will show his sweet side once he’s built trust. If you’re an experienced dog owner ready to provide a structured, loving environment, Sprocket could be a rewarding companion. He’s looking for someone who can help him overcome his fears and show him the love and stability he deserves.

Meet Nyxi, a 6 year old spayed female Standard Poodle who came to us as an owner surrender. Nyxi is as sweet as they come and is eager to please as she continues learning new tricks. With her gentle nature and affectionate heart, she’s a wonderful companion for kids and gets along well with other dogs. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. Please find our application at lovejoyfoundation.org when you come to an event please bring that filled out in hand with you. You can find our application at Lovejoyfoundation.org.

Story
#A5707694 Meet Wally , a 4-year-old Standard Poodle mix with long legs, and resembles a small version of the Irish Wolfhound. A wavy shadow-grey coat, and the regal air of a wolfish prince. He’s definitely shy and overwhelmed in the shelter, and his barky kennel manners don’t reflect the gentle soul beneath. Take him outside, give him a little time, and you'll see him begin to soften and shine. Wally needs a kind, patient adopter or foster who can help him feel safe and seen, however long that takes. With steady love and trust, this sensitive boy will bloom - and when he does, you'll have a loyal, loving companion for life. Come meet Wally and see the beauty behind the bark. -4 year old black and grey Standard Poodle mix -60 pound male - Wally hasn’t been neutered yet because he picked up a little doggy cold at the shelter and needs to get better first; he can be adopted on a health waiver and neutered later, which the shelter may be able to help with -may also need the standard round of shots and preventatives before he can go home with you, but the shelter can likely help with these as well! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 6/19/25 as a stray -long, lithe, leggy shadow grey pup, with a wavy, shaggy coat - very distinguished and regal, with a unique wolfish look -very shy and very scared in the shelter environment - don't let his presentation in the kennel put you off! Wally may bark and not show his best side in his cage, but once you take him out and get to know him, he calms down and warms up beautifully -needs a kind and gentle adopter or foster willing to go slow, be patient, and take the time to build his trust -Wally may need a little extra finesse and some upfront investment, but you'll be richly rewarded with watching him blossom into his best self firsthand, and he'll give you all his love and loyalty in return https://youtube.com/shorts/tRV42CZ0h5A For more information, contact volunteer Karen at karenklink94@hotmail.com ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. Story
** Current location: at a private shelter in South Korea ** Meet Hudson👋🏻 This gentle, handsome boy was rescued as a puppy in 2021 from a small village in South Korea, along with his five siblings. While they’ve all found their forever families, Hudson is still waiting patiently at the shelter he’s called home ever since. It's hard to believe a dog as sweet, playful, and good-looking as Hudson hasn’t received more attention! We’re hopeful that the right family is out there—one that will give him the love and sense of belonging he truly deserves. • Personality: Gentle, Friendly, Goofy Hudson can be a little reserved at first, but once he feels comfortable, he becomes curious, friendly, and affectionate. He loves to greet people with a wag and a smile! / His energy level is moderate. • Affinity with - Dogs: Hudson is social and playful with other dogs, especially those around his size. He loves to run and play! - Cats: Not tested - Adults/Kids: Great with adults / Not tested with kids • Walking Manners: Hudson’s leash-walking skills are still developing—he’s used to roaming freely in the outdoor shelter. He follows along during walks with volunteers, though he can get a little nervous in unfamiliar places or when cars go by. • Housetrained: Hudson will need some time and guidance with house training as he adjusts to a home environment. He will probably prefer the outdoors once he has regular walks. • Bathing/Brushing: He’s a champ! He enjoys baths, brushing, and even trimming. • Car Sickness: Not tested • Separation Anxiety: Zero. • Barks/Howls: Not much • Appetite/Food Allergies: Eats well. No food allergies found so far. • Shedding level (1~10): 6 • Likes/Dislikes: Hudson loves being petted and soaking up affection. • Health: A healthy pup!

Story
Meet Freddie our sweet one year old poodle mix. He weighs 15 pounds full grown. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines. The vet sent him home with a clean bill of health and is now ready to find a home all his own. He is house trained and goes outside to do his business every couple hours when needed. Inside the home, he's pretty independent and keeps to himself unless you're calling him over for some love and attention. He's not the type to demand affection, but he absolutely soaks it up when it's offered. He is still getting the hang of walking on a leash and building confidence as his previous life as a breeder dog didn't include many outings, so everything is still a little unfamiliar to him but he's making steady progress. He enjoys spending quiet time out in the yard and will happily hang out on his own, especially if he's not quite ready to come inside. He's a bit of a hide and seek pro when he wants to be. Every day he gets a little braver, a little more curious, and a little more confident. He currently sleeps in his crate peacefully at night but I'm sure he would love his own bed next to yours if you prefer. He sleeps soundly through the night and settles in easily when you need to step out. What he needs now is someone with patients and a gentle heart, someone who understands that love and trust take time to grow. He'd thrive in a calm, nurturing home where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. His adoption fee is $1500 which covers all vet costs, care and training since the time he's been with us. Get in touch with us today and share details about yourself, the loving home you can provide, and your experience with the breed. Located in Hesperia CA. We offer transportation to you so long as it's covered by the adopter. We will be in contact with you shortly. Thank you!

Kerry Blue Terrier fun facts

Fun Facts:

The Kerry Blue Terrier is the national dog of Ireland.

The long beard and bangs of the Kerry Blue Terrier serve a purpose: when bolting foxes, rats, and other animals out of their hiding places, the hair protects their face and eyes from the sharp claws of their prey.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, Kerry Blue Terriers were used as hunters, herders, ratters, and family companions alike.
