Jindo fun facts

Fun Facts:

In 1962, Jindos were declared a National Treasure of their native Korea, and given sanctity under the Cultural Properties Protection Act. This special status makes it challenging to export them out of Korea. They were introduced to the US in the 1990s.

Jindos used to hunt in packs - a pack would find and guard over their prey while one would go back to retrieve their master and guide them towards the animal prey.

Kim-dae Jung, former President of South Korea and winner of a Nobel Peace Prize, gifted Kim Jong-Il two Jindos.
