Story
Previous owner was a police officer who passed away and family could not take care of her so I adopted her, she is super quiet, calm and likes to lay down in front of glass door to see outside. She is very good at staying in front porch as long as its enclosed. She does run if left unleashed, she loves the outdoors but dont let go of her unleashed. I wish I had big yard with high fence, she loves to roam freely. I have heart condition and can’t give her the atrention she needs like walking her or taking her to dog parks so she can run freely. You will love her quiet misdemeanor. I think she was an emotional support dog in the past, i saw her in pictures with a vest with previous owner. warning, if you have a big yard make sure its high, she will find a way out. Also she has had veterinary care and maintenance but not up to date, we have all records.

Story
Let's talk about this sad story right here! This guy, rocky, has grown up, literally in the shelter. One of the volunteers who walks the dogs goes there every day and takes them for a long walk! She cries every time she thinks about how long he's been there, especially because he is so perfect, he's great with kids! He's great with other dogs. He loves to walk he's kennel trained he's happy all the time his tail never stops wagging it just goes to show you what a special boy he is having been at the Shelter for so long and he still has a beautiful disposition , we would love to get this guy his family. If you would like to consider making him part of your family, please follow the link below to our adoption application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
Meet Keyana! Keyana may come off as a little shy at first, but don't let that fool you! Her walls are quickly broken down and she'll show you just how goofy she can be. When she isn't running around, letting her curious nose guide her or playing with her toys, she loves to be with her people! She is a lover girl at heart, having done well with children and dogs that are similar to her size. With some basic training and unconditional love, we know this girl will be the best girl you could ever ask for. If you're interested in meeting Keyana, fill out an application online and stop by the shelter today!

Story
Sam is a striking 39-pound tricolor hound, using his powerful nose to search for a new family! Sam returned to the shelter after he barked too much while his owner was out of the house, and Sam surely does love to talk! Sam will thrive in a home that can offer patience, time, and training to help him learn proper manners and reassure him that the world isn’t as scary as he sometimes thinks. Sam is the sweetest boy! He loves to play (especially “nose games!”) and will need lots of ways to burn off some energy.Interested in meeting Sam? Great! To help set Sam and their adopter up for success, potential adopters who are a good fit will meet with a member of our Behavior or Animal Care leadership team to discuss the dog’s needs and make a great match! To learn more and to inquire about arranging a visit, check in with our Customer Care Staff at the front desk, email us at animalshelter@fairfaxcounty.gov, or call 703-830-1100 (Michael R. Frey Campus) or 703-324-0299 (Lorton Campus) and let us know you would like to meet Sam. This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff! Be sure to check the “shelter information” box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
