Story
It is with a heavy heart that our family is looking for a new home for our cat, Mia. A member of our household was recently diagnosed with a cat hair allergy, which has triggered daily asthma symptoms. After consulting with the doctor and considering our options, we've made the difficult decision to rehome her. Mia is a 4-year-old female, medium-haired calico. She’s a fluffy lovebug who enjoys being near her humans and thrives on short cuddle sessions at least twice a day. While she adores affection, she also values her personal space and quiet time. Mia is not comfortable around toddlers and makes that clear, though she has never scratched anyone. She does great in homes with older children, teens, and adults. If you have any questions or would like more information please reach out.

Story
It is with a heavy heart that our family is seeking a new home for our beloved cat, Bubbie. A human family member was recently diagnosed with a cat hair allergy that is triggering daily asthma, and after discussing options with the doctor, we've come to the difficult decision to rehome him. Bubbie is a 9-year-old male, short-haired tabby. He’s a small, sweet-natured cat who loves staying close to his humans, often napping near my desk while I work. He has never hissed or scratched and is best suited to homes with adults, older children, or teens. He loves to be petted and cuddled but isn’t particularly fond of toddler energy. If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to reach out. (Despite the photo of Bubbie outside on a leash, he is fully an indoor cat.)

Story
Meet Cheerio! This sweet guy will steal your heart the second you lay eyes on his handsome face. Cheerio is about 5 months old, and he made the trip to CAAA all the way from Georgia! He's hoping that his long journey will be worth it, and that he'll find the person who is going to take him home and give him the family he's been waiting forever for! This guy is pretty easy going and laid back. He's the kinda guy who just wants some love and somewhere comfy to chill out and spend his lazy cat days. This guy will surely make an amazing addition to anyone's family, and hopefully someone will give him the chance to prove how lovable he really is! If you think you could be the one to show Cheerio what it's like to have a loving family, you can apply for him at capeannanimalaid.org/catapp

Story
Jura and Peanut are two little girls that were found as a stray in two different areas and brought to our shelter. Jura (2-month-old black female with white patch on chest), aptly named after the Jura Mountain range in France, is an avid climber! She doesn't have a shy bone in her body and immediately falls in love with everyone she meets, including the resident dog and cat in her foster home. Jura has non-stop energy and enjoys playing with humans, dogs and cats alike! She has learned quickly (after a few swats from her foster family's resident cat) how to adjust her energy level to her companions and would do well in a home that can provide her ample attention and exercise. As a kitten, Jura uses her mouth (and sharp little teeth) to learn about her surroundings, so she would do best in a home with older children who can help to reinforce that fingers are not food. Peanut (3-month-old white female with calico markings) came to join Jura in her foster home after her own brothers were adopted. She has the softest, smoothest fur and beautiful markings. Peanut was initially shy, but quickly came out of her shell by watching Jura's limitless energy and now they do everything together. Peanut is a purr machine and loves to have her ears and belly rubbed. She enjoys watching Jura play and will join in for short bursts, but is very content to snooze in the sun or in her comfy bed. Peanut is happy for Jura to be the center of attention, but won't be far from any activity in the home. While Peanut hasn't met her current foster home's cat or dog yet, she did enjoy spending time with her previous foster family's resident cat so we feel she will do well in a home with or without other pets. As we are closed to the public, adoptions are by appointment only. If you are interested in meeting Jura and Peanut, please fill out our online adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MWHS/Cat. We will review all applications and make appointments for those applicants we feel would provide a good and loving home for Jura and Peanut.
