Story
Hi! My name is Rosanna, and I am IN SOUTH KOREA waiting to be matched to a home in Los Angeles! I was rescued from the dog meat trade in South Korea by the DoVE Project. My fate would have been to live in fear and distress, watching dogs being led to slaughter for human consumption. DoVE Project heard about me, and now I am looking for my forever family! ID/NAME: DV23-006 / Rosanna SEX/WEIGHT/AGE: Female / 24.3 lbs / 3 yrs BIRTH DATE: July 1, 2020 BREED: Spitz mix VACCINATIONS/SPAY/NEUTER/HEALTH: Vaccinations complete. Spayed. Healthy. BEHAVIOR: Rosanna is a sweet, calm, and intelligent pup. Although she may be timid when meeting someone new, she will quickly warm up to people. She is comfortable around house cats and plays well with other dogs but can be a bit timid with bigger dogs. Rosanna walks well on a leash. SIBLINGS/FAMILY: Rosanna's pups are Mickey and Eileen BACKGROUND: Rosanna was rescued from a slaughterhouse in Yangpyeong in July 2023 ABOUT OUR DOGS DoVE dogs come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many of our dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some of our more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper connection human-dog connection. DoVE Project is committed to helping our adopters desensitize and socialize our dog meat trade survivors. ********************************* DoVE Project operates a shelter in South Korea, where our dogs stay until they are matched with an adopter. In the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Please check our website for more information regarding our adoption process, our mission, and adoption application: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-process If you are interested in adopting, please complete an online application at: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-application-form.

Story
Little Rupert originally came to us shut down and stressed out from the shelter environment. He was also quite weary of humans. However, in just a short period of time, he has beautifully blossomed in his foster home and continues to come out of his shell more and more every day! He absolutely loves getting affection and attention and he’s recently started playing with toys and learning tricks. Rupert is only 2 years old and has got some of the most flirty eyes we’ve ever seen! He is sensitive and soulful and sweet natured. We are smitten with this boy. He would do best in a calm household with adults- older children would be okay. He also does well with balanced, confident dogs. We are excited to find Rupert his forever home.

Story
This handsome little boy is Nelson! Nelson is our 4 month old, male, Border Terrier, Chihuahua mix puppy that is looking for his forever home. Nelson was born in November along with his sister and brother to Mama Lucy who we rescued with two other dogs that were seen being thrown from a car window and abandoned. Soon after being rescued, we realized that Mama Lucy was pregnant and she gave birth shortly after. Nelson is the confident puppy of the bunch who is like the leader. He is a rough and tumble little guy who who loves to play! He does need another young, small breed, very playful dog in the home or he can be adopted with his sister Nellie (brown/white). We don't adopt out our puppies as "only" dogs. Nelson would love a home with a safe and secure yard to run around in and owner that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal. Nelson is such a fun and loving little guy and deserves the best home out there! Nelson is microchipped, vaccinated, and will be neutered at the appropriate age. We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles Areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period. Nelson's adoption fee is $600

Story
Little Thelma, and her sister Louise, are 4 month old female Border Terriers surrendered to Lovejoy by a Good Samaritan who found them living on the streets in a homeless encampment that has since been evacuated. These little pups came in scared and shy but have since flourished into the happy puppies they were meant to be. They are experiencing the love of humans and are good with kids, dogs, and cats. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. Please find our application at lovejoyfoundation.org when you come to an event please bring that filled out in hand with you. You can find our application at Lovejoyfoundation.org. The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc. does not adopt beyond a 30 mile radius from our headquarters in Inglewood. Sometimes exceptions are made in a particular situation for an adopter further out than 30 miles which is at the discretion of the director.
