My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ZOURA 3 year old Lab Mix 77 lbs

Zoura's new home must have a fenced yard and already have a playful canine in the household that is a permanent family member.

Zoura is a happy smart social affectionate girl who loves kids, dogs, men and women. She does not appear to be a good match for a home with cats. Zoura loves being a couch potato as much as she loves going a walks, car rides, to the dog park and dog friendly places. She currently lives in a foster home with both small and large male and female dogs. She loves them all and is a submissive pack member. A female Cairn Terrier sometimes enjoys bossing her around. Zoura really enjoys wrestling and playing chase with her canine companions. Zoura can be found following her foster mom around and laying at her foot while she is cooking but she is also independent and will go outside through the dog door where she enjoys sunning herself or playing chase with one of the dogs. She is house trained with or without a doggy door. Zoura is crate trained and goes to her crate on command, but of all the foster dogs her foster mom has had, she hates being crated. She is great loose in the house and is not destructive. She is crated in her foster home in case any of the other dog escape from their crate, they would not be looses together in the house. At night she sleeps where she wants which is usually in her foster mom's bed making her best friend Lilly, also avaiable for adoption, a dog sandwich with her foster mom on the other side. Zoura sits on command. Zoura is an excellent companion and perfect house guest.

Rescue Story-Zoura came from the country in Campbell Tx where she was tethered outside since she was a 6 month old puppy for the last 2 years on land with no fence and a metal makeshift dog house that gave her some shelter from ran and snow but zero insulation. She was very thin when she was finally released from her tether prison. She also immediately adjusted to living inside with other dogs. So had very little human tough for those 2 years. She is a little shy at first, but she warms up fast and before you now it she is giving kisses, laying at your feet, following you around and snuggling next to you.

Zoura comes with a year of heartworm prevention. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, she tested negative for heartworms on 11/27/16, she has been dewormed, normal cbc blood panel as of 4/29/17, and microchipped with HomeAgain.
