Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hazel came into our shelter as a stray. She most likely got into some type of poison while out running and it was touch and go for a week or 2 but she is doing fabulous now!
Hazel is approximately 1 year old. She is a loving dog that doesn't realize her own strength. She is very playful and loves toys. She is also very mouthy. She thinks EVERYTHING is a toy including the leash and your arms. Due to her mouthy puppy behavior we are recommending that Hazel is not placed in a home with small children. If you are interested in Hazel, please know training is a must for this girl or her behaviors will just get worse. Hazel loves treats and knows sit. She responds well when given direction so working with a trainer should be an easy way to manage her behaviors.
An experienced home is a must. Hazel is not for a first time dog owner. She has met other dogs and has done well but could very likely try to be dominant especially with another female.
If you have another dog in your home, a meet and greet is required. We do not know how she is with cats in a home.
Hazel has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested neg. for heartworm which is included in the $50 adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this dog, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays)
