My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for someone to make you laugh and keep you company?

Look no further!

Hendrix is an 11 month old puppy with endless amounts of energy. He loves, loves, loves other dogs and can play, play, play for hours at a time with them! That being said, he would not be good with senior dogs or timid dogs that won't appreciate his rambunctious energy. But because he loves dogs so much and doesn't enjoy being alone, we would prefer he go to a home with at least 1 other dog.

Hendrix is also good with cats but again, some cats may not appreciate his crazy energy and he may chase them thinking they will play.

He also loves all people and is a super friendly puppy. But being extremely energetic and being a puppy, he's also very mouthy. So Hendrix would probably not be good with small children. He will likely try to play with them too rough and may accidently scare or injure them.

Now, Hendrix is a little special. He came to us extremely underweight and with bowed front legs. He has gained some of his weight back but could still use a little more. Because of his bowed legs and being so thin, we had some tests done on Hendrix to figure out what's what. It turns out, the vet believes Hendrix may have Lupus. He recommended that we give Hendrix a 30 day course of medication then re-run bloodwork etc to see how it compares to the bloodowork done previously. As long as everything comes back OK, the vet will then neuter Hendrix. The vet also says that his bowed front legs could have either been a genetic defect or it could have been from living in a crate too small for his size along with malnutrition. Either way, there isn't much to be done about his legs. He still plays like a normal puppy. He also can't quite do a full set of stairs and may need to be carried but being less than 40lbs makes that easier. 3 or 4 steps is easy for him.

So what we are looking for is a foster to adopt home for Hendrix. We will provide his medication, keep him UTD on flea & HW prevention as well as vaccines, and pay for his next vet visit, bloodwork and neuter. After his neuter he can officially be adopted by his forever home.

So if you're interested in a very special, very friendly, very rambunctious puppy, have another very playful dog, don't have any small children or senior animals, have a lot of love and a lot of time to play, then Hendrix just may be the dog for you. His adoption fee is only $100 and he is ready to go home today! Please call with any questions or stop by during adoption hours to meet, and play with him!
